I thought I couldn't make biscuits. My attempts were always epic fails. Then I found this recipe on Smitten Kitchen. I adapted it to be my own and now biscuits are on my Christmas menu this year.
4 cups of flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
3 cups of heavy cream.
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Slowly add the cream until you form a ball.
Split that ball into two and roll out one of the smaller balls to form a circle (or a close approximation) on a floured surface. Cut the circle like you would a pizza.
Take one slice of "pizza" and roll it from the long end to the point making a little croissant shaped biscuit. Repeat with all slices of "pizza". Then repeat for the second ball of dough.
Arrange biscuits on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 425 till golden (about 10 min).
Serve warm with butter, jam and honeybutter.
